A youtube title generator has one hard number to respect: a YouTube title can be up to 100 characters (YouTube Help). The Data API reference adds that the angle brackets < and > aren't allowed.
The 60 character rule is the common rule of thumb inside that limit: keep the part that matters within roughly the first 60 characters, because longer titles often get cut off. It is a working guideline, not a YouTube rule. YouTube doesn't publish how many characters show in search, on the home feed or next to a playing video, and the visible length shifts with screen size and layout. What you can count on: the start of a title is what every viewer sees, and the end is what gets cut first.
TubeWizz follows both numbers: every title stays within the 100 character limit, and the main keyword goes in the first 60 characters. Check the title on a phone before you publish.
The AI youtube title generator here writes three titles for every video, each from a different angle: a direct title that names the topic, a curiosity or question title, and a benefit title that names the outcome. It works from your transcript, so each title describes what the video contains. When it can find them, it also studies titles of current videos on the same topic and adapts their formats without copying them.
Direct: [Topic]: [what the video covers]
Curiosity: Why [surprising fact about the topic]?
Benefit: [Outcome] in [time or steps] ([method])No formula wins every time. What gets clicks consistently is matching the formula to the viewer's intent. Direct titles suit tutorials and searches with clear intent. Curiosity titles suit topics people don't know they want yet. Benefit titles suit how-to videos where the result is the selling point. If you set a content type in your brand profile, the tone shifts too: reviews lead with the verdict, tutorials promise a concrete result.
Catchy youtube titles still have to be true. A hook the video doesn't pay off early turns any tool into a clickbait title generator, and viewers who feel misled have every reason to leave.
YouTube's advice is to pick one or two main words that describe the video and feature them prominently in both the title and the description (YouTube Help). In a title, "prominently" has a practical meaning: when a title is truncated, the words at the start survive and the words at the end may not.
Front-loading helps the viewer as well. Someone scanning results decides at a glance whether a video matches what they typed. "Espresso machine descaling, the 10 minute method" tells them faster than a title that saves the subject for the last few words.
It isn't a rule that every title must open with the keyword. A curiosity title can start with a question and still carry the keyword early. A quick test: cover the second half of the title with your thumb. If the first half still says what the video is about, the keyword is in the right place.
YouTube Studio has a built-in tool for this called Test & compare. You can test up to three titles, three thumbnails, or title and thumbnail pairs, and YouTube picks the winner by watch time share rather than clicks. Title testing was announced in September 2025, and thumbnail testing launched in 2023. Two titles make the cleanest comparison: one clear difference, one winner. Studio allows a third if you want it.
Tests aren't available for Shorts, Premieres, scheduled live streams, or made-for-kids, 18+ and private videos. For thumbnail tests, read the thumbnail A/B testing guide. SEO Wizard produces the titles along with the description, tags and thumbnails from one upload.
