The best places to promote a YouTube video are the ones where people already follow you, because they need the least convincing to click. For most creators that means an Instagram feed post, a vertical post on Reels, TikTok or Stories, a LinkedIn update for professional topics, a post on X, and your email list if you have one.

The hook is the first line people see before they decide to keep reading. It should state the payoff of the video, not describe the video. "I tested five budget mics so you don't have to" gives a reason to click. "My new video about microphones is out" does not.

Keep the promise consistent with your title and thumbnail. If the post oversells, people click, feel misled and leave early, which does your video no favors. Then close with one clear action and the link, or "link in bio" where links in captions don't work.
